The core competence of the ABAS Software AG is the development of flexible ERP and eBusiness software for medium-sized companies with up to 1,000 employees. More than 2100 customers throughout the world have opted for both ABAS as IT specialist and for the integrated abas Business Software. The company ABAS that was once characterized by students has now become a group of companies. The ABAS Software AG in Karlsruhe employs around 110 people, together with over 50 abas partners worldwide it comes to an approximate total of 600 employees.

The abas Business Software is a flexible, adaptable and future-proof complete business solution (ERP, PPC, MRP, eBusiness) for medium-sized businesses. The abas Business Software consists of two components: abas ERP is a flexible ERP standard software, which optimizes business processes within a company. In addition, abas ERP enables a variety of Web applications and eBusiness applications, such as product catalogs and Web Shops, which require access to ERP data.

The clear structure and well thought-out implementation strategy of abas Business Software enables a short implementation period, as well as a trouble-free integration into the company structure. Specific requirements can be integrated into abas ERP at a minimal effort. New functions and technologies are constantly added to the standard software. As a result, abas users are always using the most up-to-date product.

The abas Business Software can be run using Linux, Unix and Windows. ABAS has supported the open source operating system Linux on the server-side since 1995. Approximately 80% of over 2100 abas installations are based on Linux. abas Business Software has been available in the front end range using Linux from Version 2003. Linux has proven to be a cost effective, stable and high performance system on both the server and the client side.
