| Karlsruhe, August 23, 2006 - The ABAS Software AG located in Karlsruhe (Germany) encourages the new IT generation worldwide. Around the globe, 15 universities use the abas ERP software (Enterprise Resource Planning) to teach modern company planning. | |||
The Community College of the City University Hong Kong is now also
working with abas ERP. The Department of Trade was equipped for modern
enterprise resource planning by ABAS Business Solutions (PRC) Ltd and
IBM. Since 2003 ABAS Business Solutions (PRC) Ltd, located in Hong
Kong, has been a partner of the ABAS Software AG from Karlsruhe. The
students are accessing abas ERP via IBM OpenPower 710 and a Linux
platform. Thanks to the modern equipment, the students can acquire the
necessary knowledge to manage strategically integrated business
processes with ERP and to better understand todays production processes.Dr. Kokin Lam, professor at the Department of Trade, is happy with the advantages of abas ERP: "The system depicts the feature that production and administration are divided between China and Hong Kong. Moreover, abas ERP faces up to the multilingual challenges in Hong Kong: English, as well as traditional and simplified Chinese." He also explains: "Nowadays companies have to use IT systems for their business in order to be competitive. They do not have any alternatives, but have to simplify and restructure their processes in order to obtain a niche in the constantly changing market. Therefore, our department has initiated some IT supported programs to meet these market requirements. Students are provided with the possibility to learn more about the topic enterprise resource planning which is so important for the business world." |

"Encouraging the new generation means to make an investment in the
future," says Peter Forscht, Chief Operating Officer of the ABAS
Software AG, regarding the university program. In the long run these
investments are also to ensure the success of German software companies
abroad. "Made in Germany still has a high value worldwide," says Werner
Strub, CEO of the ABAS Software AG. "Services will in the future become
more and more important for the export. Nowadays automobile
manufacturing and mechnical engineering are Germany's most important
export sectors. At present we provide the infrastructure to these
countries using which they can build their machines themselves in the
future. And then? In the future we provide the know-how for effectively
managing companies." ABAS sells its business software in 23 countries
worldwide. |
